'Looking back at my work, I see that fashion has always been there', Annie Leibovitz says in the preface to her new book. 'But photography always comes first for me.' In Wonderland she presents twenty years of pure fashion work, much of it done with haute couture, alongside portraits that confirm the cohesiveness of her artistic vision. While demonstrating how she came to embrace fashion photography, she explains what influences the picture: the subject, the place, the clothes. Portraits of the major contemporary designers are included along with descriptions of some of her most ambitious shoots.
