As a child Heather Caddick studied clouds, seeing a world of possibilities unfolding in their ghostly shapes, like mirages. This collection of stories spans a forty-year compulsion to reach the next mirage, whether on horseback to Maree droving 500 head of cattle, or sharing a picnic rug with a curious Savannah baboon and his family in the Fantale Crater in Ethiopia. Heather's stories, both enlightening and entertaining, carry a message - we must hold on to our wonder in this precious planet, and the wildlife that remains wild, learning to protect it for the sake of our children's children.
