Charles won the Macmillan Prize, and the Mother Goose Award for his first book and his work has gone on from strength to strength. He has had numerous books published with Gullane Children's Books including: Sometimes I Like to Curl up in a Ball ('Highly Commended' for the Kate Greenaway Medal, 2001), Yip! Snap! Yap!, I Know a Rhino, Blot and Og's Monster Party, Found You, Little Wombat!, Where To, Little Wombat?, Swim, Little Wombat, Swim!, WATCH OUT, Little Wombat, Halving Fun with Buster Bug, Doubling Fun with Annie Ant, What Can A Baby Do?, and many more. Charles lives in Burton Bradstock, Dorset, with his partner and their son, Oliver.
