Born in Majorca in 1933, Prince Rupert Loewenstein, of an offshoot of the Bavarian royal house of Wittelsbach, spent his childhood in London and Grasse before becoming a stockbroker for the American firm Bache & Co. He went on to form a consortium that bought the investment bank Leopold Joseph & Sons. Five years later he met Mick Jagger and became accountant to the Rolling Stones, which position he held for the following thirty-seven years. Prince Rupert now lives in Richmond with his wife Princess Josephine; they have three children.
